Laine Baxley is on a distinguished road
I would suggest you check out Leander; a smaller community west of Round Rock on Hwy 183. Acreage may be better priced. Personally, I don't care for living as close to I-35 as Round Rock is.

I say Spookmeister is right on. Those areas are further out and there are more horse properties.

Anything in Williamson County is pretty conservative. Night and day really from the Central Austin liberal feel. I agree Georgetown, and even Liberty Hill would be good areas for land.

Take a look at Liberty Hill. Our neighborhood (Sundance Ranch – Liberty Hill Sundance Ranch POA - sundanceranch.org) has both horses and home school (although I really like the public school system and the teachers they employ). Water-skiing either East to Lake G'town or West to Lake Buchanan. The area is certainitly not what I would consider liberal. Most of Williamson county is conserative but specifically in a traditional Christian direction. If I was looking for a conserative Islam or Budist or Jewish area for example then Willaimson county would not be my first pick.
