Default Round Rock to Pflugerville

My wife and I are looking to buy a home and are finding that Pflugerville is in our price range for the size house we want. Currently we live on the East Side of Round Rock off AW Grimes and Old Settlers. In your opinions would you move from Round Rock to Pflugerville and how are the school between the two?

My son is about to start grades K-5. Are there any areas or schools to stay away from in Pflugerville? Where are the better schools in Pflugerville?

The newer schools in Pflugerville are the ones I would recommend. I went 2nd-12th grade at Pflugerville Elementary, Park Crest Middle and Pflugerville High. I think the schools closest to the toll roads would be the better ones to attend. For elementary there are Murchison, Riojas (opening this year) and Rowe Lane. Kelly Lane Middle and Hendrickson High as well. I subbed at Murchison years ago and my daughter attends the preschool program at Rowe Lane and I am very impressed with the schools.

Default Move to Pflugerville

I would agree, for the most part, with bdeluna. You can check the P'ville website for rankings of the campuses.

We personally have had great experiences with Pflugerville Elementary, Kelly Lane Middle, and Hendrickson High. We also had a pretty good run at Dessau Middle School (which will probably surprise some people).

I live in one of the neighborhoods off of Kelly lane - it's a nice, new area, lots of growth (despite the yucky economy) and the three schools: Murchison Elem., Kelly Lane MS, and Hendrickson HS are great. I'm sure there are some great deals going on for home prices in Falcon Pointe, or there is a little bit more reasonably-priced homes in the Villages of Hidden Lake (farther east on Kelly Lane). My neighborhood has great prices and is very quiet (the Reserve at Westcreek), but we're "in between builders" right now, so there are only a couple of homes for sale.

Best of luck to you!
