I have some friends flying in this weekend via the Viva Aerobus flight from Cancun. I'm picking them up at the airport and just wondering if anyone has had experience with the new South Terminal. According to the website, there is a place to meet arriving passengers, but I've been led astray on the ABIA website before and want to make sure they are not shuttling them over to the main terminal for Customs.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I have not tried it, but I suspect they clear customs in the south terminal.
The main terminal does not have any segregated facilities for flights having to clear customs, and when I went to the customs office once to import my car, the guy told me on the phone to get there before 2:30 because that is when the whole group went over to the south terminal. I assume this means they were clearing the incoming flight.

This is just a guess.

My son came into the South terminal from Cancun a couple of months ago. They deplane right there, get their luggage right there, and you meet them right there, too. No reason to go to the main terminal.
