Default Could anyone name the most conservative places and neigbhorhoods to live in the austin area?

I know everyone here is progressive or moderate to dems or most are, can you tell me where the other side lives, the conservative areas of Austin, both in Austin city limits and outside?

justanothercalifornian is on a distinguished road
Some people would say Cedar Park and Round Rock. I think both those areas tend to run pretty conservitive.

I'd agree with the above. I do think there is a lot of political diversity (i.e. there are actually some conservatives/ traditional types as opposed to 100 percent liberal) in south/ west Austin. The suburban areas of Westlake, for example. Circle C, and those areas will have a mix of people with different points of view.

The central parts of Austin, and north Austin, are going to be from light blue to deep, dark, navy blue. Hyde Park being probably the most liberal.

Round Rock and Cedar Park, Hutto and Pflugerville might have the opposite --- they might be predominantly conservative Republican. I think that is equally as non-diverse as Central Austin so for me it's just the same problem, but the opposite make up.

I would say anywhere in Williamson county will be plenty conservative enough for your liking. Only Travis county is "blue" as far as voting democrat is concerned (at least within the Austin area). And that is primarily because of the population in the city limits -- more rural areas of Travis are probably somewhat conservative too. Hays county is republican, but less so (at least in voting trends) than Williamson.

Yes, Georgetown is in Williamson County and is North of Round Rock/Cedar Park. I believe that Georgetown would probably be your best bet as it's right next to Sun City and has a lot of conservative retirees. Again, you'll find a mix of everyone, but I did see a ton of McCain/Palin signs in yards last year in my Dad's neighborhood in Georgetown.

Yes, indeed it is!

It is not as conservative, law-and-order, as it used to be (anyone remember the dustup about partner benefits when Apple wanted to open a call center in Williamson county, maybe 17 years ago?) but conservatives and republicans will not be short supply.

RR and CP are also in Williamson County. I lived in Georgetown for awhile and I would agree that it tends to be more conservative.
