It's one of the pleasanter months. The average high is 79 and the average low is 58. It is capable of getting hotter, but our last freeze is usually in March so it won't be that cold.

April in Texas is my favorite month! Warm, bearable temps, thunderstorms, the wildflowers are blooming, etc!

Maybe, although that could be any time of year. Asking a question like this is like asking how hot or cold water is. There just isn't a single answer that is right or worng. It might be hot, cold, raining, drought, thunderstorms or clear blue skies, humid or dry. Oh and that could all be in one day on any day of the year.

Yes, all of spring is tornado season but the Austin area hasn't seen a serious tornado since May of 1997 (Lakeway and Jarrell) weather conditions are right for them here but there is not a great of risk as there is in other parts of the state.

That's the best month...In May, you already start getting the 90's-ish days.....heavenly, but with
lots of rain, and wind as well sometimes..can remember some pretty nasty thunderstorms some Aprils....

Late March, early April...just perfect. Just like the Indigo Girls sing "there's nothing like the south land in the springtime"...they were probably talking about Georgia but it applies to Texas too. Although you likely won't have bluebonnets this year because of the drought. My fondest Texas memories are of my kiddos as little ones screaming "bluebonnets" every time we got in the car to go somewhere that time of year.

April is beautiful, although some days you'll know summer is already near. March is my favorite month...High 60's low 70's, some spring showers, but allergies are really a problem yet. Tornado's...in April?! Nah, late May maybe, June possible. Austin is really not in the path or area that generates Tornado's very easily. You'll get some SERIOUS thunderstorms, but very rarely a tornado.
