Dell interview process (employment, moving, employers)

I'm curious if anyone can tell me about their (or a friends) experience with obtaining employment at Dell.

• Interview process
• applying online- time it took for company to respond
• recruiting process, etc

Lengthy, long, drawn out - for all of those points!

My husband works for Dell now - we also moved here from WA. He applied for a position at Dell about a month prior to our moving, and took a contract job for immediate work while he looked for other opportunities once we were down here.

A couple of weeks into our being here - he got the call for a phone interview - had a couple of those over a couple of days, and then was brought in for an in-person. It was a little more than a half day process - and then we just waited.

I think that when he finally got an offer and started, it had been, total - about a 3ish month long process.

I don't know how it may or may not vary depending on the position and level.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have also heard from several people that the process is overly lengthy.

Anyone else care to comment on any detailed accounts of the recruiting/hiring process and interviews at Dell (how many rounds of interviews, who conducted the interviews, and whether there were any specific interview questions you remember of note).
