Smile Round Rock Neighborhoods

We are a couple in our early 50's looking to move to Round Rock from Ohio. The kids are college age and older & will probably visit, so we'd like an area with a neighborhood pool, clubhouse, etc. We're looking in a range from $190000 to $240000, 10 years and younger. We liked some of the following areas when we visited, but would like to get any insight from people who may live in these neighborhoods. They include Teravista, Paloma Lake, Sonoma, Forest Creek, and more.

If anyone could tell us more about living in any of these areas or other suggestions, it would really help us narrow our search. Thanks!

While I don't know much about those subdivisions, other than the elementary schools in the area, I just want to wish you luck in your search. We moved here almost three years ago from NE Ohio and love it!!!

I do know people in TeraVista and Forrest Creek and they love it there. I think you can get in for your upper price range.

Best of Luck!

Some people in our moms group live in Teravista. It's a nice neighborhood, and the area is growing by leaps and bounds. There is a new hospital VERY close by, maybe 2. Or, one hospital, one medical center. You are very close to the outlets and movie theatre and lots of other shopping. The original owners of the land are also very particular about who they are selling to and how it's developed. Much of that area is dedicated to medical and education. Round Rock Higher Education Center is there, As is a branch of ACC (Austin Community College) and soon to be A&M Nursing school. I've not driven through Paloma Lakes, but it's not really far from that area either, just a little further out on one of the FM Roads. Forest Creek is in a different part of Round Rock, closer to Hutto and Pflugerville. It's very nice homes/larger lots, but they are a little older, not cookie cutter type. It's next to the Star Ranch Golf course and also has a pool. Sonoma is close to Forest Creek. It's a newer subdivision, although I also have not been through it, only past it on the way to somewhere else. Nice entrance They are both close to the Clay Madsen Rec Center and close to 2 grocery stores and some restaurants.

I forgot to mention that Teravista has 2 pools at last count. Who knows, there may be a 3rd in the works. It also has a very nice community center and golf course/clubhouse. Lots of pocket parks and it's pretty walkable. Also, pretty hilly for East of 35. Love the landscaping within the development. They also have community intranet.

Thanks love roses for the details about the area. Teravista did appeal to us, its nice to hear from someone who knows people that live there. Glad to hear about the pools and community center as well. I'm not familiar with Clay Madsen Rec Center, I'll have to look it up to see what amenities they have.

Just wanted to add/correct a little. ACC has broken ground I believe to be ready Fall 2010...? The A&M school is actually their Medical School - it'll be open Fall 2009. The RRHEC is a campus of Texas State University (I'm sure you know that but the OP probably doesn't) and offers quite a few night graduate degrees plus some day and/or night bachelor programs. They're wanting the campus to eventually expand into it's own school really. Because of all of the education growth, there is a bit of apartment building going on in the area (if that is a type of thing that might worry you for some reason).

The wife and I drove through Paloma Lakes right before Christmas - it still was not quite built up yet - still in the very early building stages. It looked to be a very nice area but it is quite a bit out further out from everything. Some of the houses were not our style but a few of them were very nice and something I'd like to live in.
