Default 2222/360 commute to downtown

Hi everyone,
I'm moving to Alexan Vistas next week and was wondering about the commute to downtown. I rented the apartment last month, but I didn't have time to test the drive during commute hours. I will need to be at work between 9 -9:30. Any idea on the traffic at that time? Also, I'm assuming 2222 is the best option to get downtown.

Thanks in advance,
Jenn

I work at UT (about 5-10 min. from downtown) and my husband works at a church just off the 360/2222 intersection. I've commuted TO 360/2222 FROM UT during evening rush hour - on a good day it was about 25-35 minutes - on a bad day - 45 min. to an hour. Traffic out that way can be REALLY bad.

Never done it in the morning, but I assume the commute would be (roughly) the same. 2222 to MoPac would be your best bet.

What part of downtown? There might be some alternate routes. The later you go, the better the traffic. Rush hour seems to be concentrated between 7:30 and 8:30. It may be that if you waited until 9:00, it wouldn't be quite as bad and you could do it in less than 30.

Well, you could take 2222 over to Mopac (or Mo-park as I like to call it) or you could just take 360 all the way down to Mopac north and then take the Ceasar Chavez exit into downtown. It's worth trying both to see which one is easiest for you. Sometimes easiest isn't always the shortest or fastest either!

Huh? Taking 360 ALL the way down to Mopac would be way longer than taking 2222 to Mopac - no matter the traffic conditions.

Your only and best option is really just taking 2222 to Mopac and take Mopac down to one of the downtown exits.

The faster you get off of 360 the better. I live off 360 just north of 2222 and the traffic lights are killer during rush hour. The later you can leave the better, for 360 and Mopac traffic.
