That is true! Place like Kerbey Lane have many vegetarian dishes so its not like you can't go out with others. Austin is very veggie friendly!

If you want to do your own shopping I would recommend looking at Natural Grocers or Wheatsville as well. Lots of vegan options. Frankly I gotta disagree on Mothers but maybe I just ordered wrong.

You should also check out Vegans Rock Austin! for some more options.

Just discovered Monday night Fajita Madness at Santa Rita Mexican restaurant.
This includes 2 fajitas at the price of 1.
The veggie option was delightfully fresh tasting. This was at the Escarpment Village location in SW Austin.

Don't forget "meetup.com". There is a vegetarian meetup group in Austin and they get together at various restaurants regularly (usually 3 or 4 times a month: sometimes more often, sometimes less).

Speaking of the old West Lynn Cafe, I really miss Cosmic Cafe, which took its place, albeit briefly. It was soooo lovely.

Madras Pavilion in North Austin is also nice for Indian Food.

Bombay express is OK. Do try Curry in a Hurry - 2121 W Parmer Lane. And Swad (near Lamar and Rundberg- near the HEB) if you like Indian food. Madras Pavillion (Near Burnet and 183) is good if you like elaborate buffets (priced at around 10.99).
