I've heard that Austin is experiencing a lot of heavy rain which made me wonder the following: are there any areas of Austin that flood more than most when there is heavy rain? I used to live in Houston where certain streets would flood at, what seemed like, even the threat of rain. Just wondering what areas are known to accumulate a lot of water.

Thanks for your help!

There are not really any areas in the city proper that are subject to quick flooding. Some areas near Town Lake can flood (Lamar blvd and maybe Shoal Creek Blvd), but it takes a pretty good rain storm and only happens every 5 or 10 years, probably. There are a few low water crossings, but nothing that will be a problem if you don't go through it and there are generally other ways around.

Out in the hill country, there are quite a few low water crossings that can isolate you sometimes, but they usually go down within a day, if not much less.
