Has there been any final vote on the changes regarding which kids go to which high school?

If you haven't heard, they want to send kids who attended Great Oaks Elementary to Round Rock HS. Until now, they have always gone to McNeil. All kids in the Brushy Creek area go to Cedar Valley Middle School, but for some reason, they want to split them up once they go to high school.

Redrawing the lines usually happens when school populations get out of proportion.

No, the school board vote has not happened, to my knowledge.

Just found this on Impact News:

The Citizen’s Boundary Committee is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. March 31 in the Round Rock High School lecture hall to decide on recommendations for middle and high school boundaries. The committee will present its final report to the board at 6:30 p.m. April 7 at the RRHS lecture hall.

The role of the boundary committee is to present a recommendation to the school board. During the public hearings it was made clear that the boundary options were just proposals. The committee reserves the right to edit, change, eliminate and create new scenarios based on the research they have done. The boundary committee also reserves the right to re-discuss and change any of its decisions prior to making its final report to the board on April 7.

The school board will then have the opportunity to accept, reject or edit the committee recommendations presented to them at the April 7 board meeting. Boundaries are not final until the board adopts new boundaries during the April 7 meeting.
