Interesting article, it was from 2002. Does anyone know what happened with the trademark disupute?
A trademark search http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield...006:3ah54n.2.1 does show that a trademark has been issued for:
"Goods and Services IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: caps and shirts, namely, t-shirts, polos, sweatshirts. FIRST USE: 20011001. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20011001"
Registration Date October 21, 2003

Sure. Red does. Did you go to the original Keep Austin Weird website that I linked to?

Has Red been heard from since? And if so, what does he say now?

Did you not go to the link to the original Keep Austin Weird website that I keep posting in these threads? That's Red's website, and he's quite clear there on what he says now. He also has a recent book out - you can see info about it on the website or you can flip through it at BookPeople (and likely any other bookstore) to see what he says.
Yes, he's been heard from since. Almost continuously, since years before the folks stole the saying and went commercial with it (which, as said, proves that they really don't get it).

I did and I really like his prototype for new shirt, the one that has the big registered trademark symbol on the front and says, "Trademark This expletives" on the back
