Actually I might have to reevaluate my stance on that. If you look at the statistics United States cities by crime rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia in cities over 250,000 population, of the 73 cities listed.

Austin is safer than most cities but has significantly more property crime. I wonder why that is? I think I will start a separate thread about this.
