This sounds intriguing to me. Where would I look to find these homes at austinhomesearch.com or some other place? I'm new here and don't have my geographical bearings yet. You can DM me if you like. Thanks.

What compounds the problem is that most tract houses are built close together so when everybody parks in the driveway, it looks more like a used car lot than a nice neighborhood.
I agree, it's one of the reasons why Chris and I chose Highland Park in Pflugerville. All the garages were in the back, the houses were very pretty, it seemed like a nice pretty neighborhood. Now I can't see the houses because people have parked their u haul style work trucks in front of their houses, and, I can't drive down my road because a uhaul like truck on one side and a F150 extended cab with bumped out wheels on the other = no room for my prius to squeeze inbetween.

Of course many on this board criticize that I am infringing on my neighbors rights to park where they please and I am trying to "control" my neighbors actions. The reality being, my neighbors are preventing me from driving down a public road. Whom is infringing on whoms rights in that situation?

The problem is the folks who STILL park in the street IN FRONT of the houses...There is a neighborhood in Cedar Park, near 183A toll plaza, that has the 'park in back' set-up...looks like NOBODY does it. I was riding my bike through there one weekend and had to pull over to allow oncoming traffic to drive through...not even enough room for ONE car and ONE bike to travel. I can only imagine what it is like when the rec area across the street is busy...best laid plans and all that Where's that HOA when you need 'em?!?

Yes, and it's especially frustrating when these people all have driveways in the back that accomodate at the least 4 cars, and at the most 12 (my neighbor has a corner lot at an angle, and his driveway holds 2 rows of 6 cars each) if for any reason they don't want to park in their garage.

That's like the old joke/conundrum "Why do people drive on the parkway and park in the driveway?"

And why are people sober on the highway?

We have friends in that neighborhood and when we were there, you weren't allowed to park out front, IIRC. Apparently, that's changed...

They didn't design that area very well when doing the garages and "alleys". Trying to pull a mid sized renta-car into their driveway was challenging. I can't imagine doing it with an F350...
