No, I think the OP has just been rather successful at stirring the pot. Not that many in Austin are from Austin. People are people and it's good.

Exactly. There are many, many people in Austin (myself included, albeite 40 yeras ago) who came here from somewhere other than Austin.
I wasn't saying that everything in and of Austin is perfect. Just that the number of people that would fit Mr. Cosby's term is a very minor part of the population, and an equally minor part of the population that has "personality".
And that the few that I have happened to encounter over the years, have, for the most part, happened not to have been natives. Not that transplants fit that definition by definition.

I'm glad you've finally come to your senses.
How's the move back to CT coming along?

I like that last bit.
"People are people and it's good."
That should be our national motto or something.

End of summer. I'm counting the days. Luckily my job involves constant travel so I'm not here much.

I'll tell you what's missing! You aint got no tattoos! First thing I noticed when I got here, w.t.h.! I aint got no tattoos neither, and people here have them covering their entire backs in full color, and some legs too! It's far out wierd like the bumper sticker. I can't tell if these tattoo'ees here are conservative, liberal, religious crazies, or gun crazies. Maybe they're all four, rolled into one tattoo'ed body, gun conceiling fully packed & ready to rock. I believe the "certain religion" here in austin is BBQ, a beer in the hand, and a tattoo on the back. Plus a big smile. I'm not sure which bible that's in.. I bet it's got a black leather cover though.

This is one of the other reasons why I want to leave. People talk in quiz like language. I do not have to be "established" by having no f*ing tattoo, that doesn't make sense what so ever.
Also, there have been Christians bothering me about joining their church. That's the problem, differences.
I get attacked by christians who do not see all the body art on me.
They do not get near people with body art.
I don't get Austin a bit. I am still waiting paitent for May 25th to roll around. Or the 24th of 9pm, so I can head there early and not miss the 10:50am May 25th, to head to Greyhound.
@mlasoff, from experience, Californians are hard to deal with. I try to ignore them but they like to bump into you to make eye contact. They are seeking attention all the time. So, don't worry brother, I am with you on this one.

I find this post incredibly funny & ironic because a) the previous poster was joking, I believe. And b) I mostly don't understand most of your posts. You're kinda talking in a quiz-like language yourself! I thought english was your second language but then I noticed you grew up here.
Anyway, I know what it's like to live somewhere you hate (and it's all so subjective), so I wish all the best luck to you.

I will say that you're brave, taking the Greyhound across the desert in May. You're gonna fry out there!
