Austin and the Auto Racing/Speed Shop Industry (job, move)

Hi All!

My husband and I are considering locating from Michigan (big move!). My husband works at a local high performance race shop here in Michigan. Can someone tell me what the local race scene is like? I understand there is a drag strip located about an hour or two from the Austin area? Are muscle cars/drag cars big in that area? When I was out there recently I actually did not notice any big "cruising scene" either... but maybe that's a Michigan thing as in the summer - that's all you see as we can only use our cool cars a couple months a year! Any insight would be appreciated - as well as some resources that he could look at for potential job leads. Thanks so much!
