Default Wild Basin Area: What's Around There?

I am just wondering what the neighborhoods are called that are across the 360 from the Wild Basin Preserve. Does anyone know about those areas, in terms of price and community features? If you wanted to live close in to that preserve, where would you live? (Young retirees, no concerns about schools, but wanting a social community, recreational opportunities)

Most of what is directly across from Wild Basin is the Rob Roy neighborhood. It's a very upscale area, once open to 360 (at least parts of it), but now it's completely gated off. In terms of price, it's probably $500K (maybe more) for the smallest house, and it goes way up from there. To the north on that (west) side of 360 is some new apartments and the older Bunny Run neighborhood, also very expensive. To the south you have an small older section called Camelot, then Lost Creek which are slightly less expensive (maybe $350-400K to start).

On the same side as Wild Basin, you've got Davenport / Austin Country Club directly to the north and part of the "proper" city of West Lake Hills to the south. Probably $400K for a garden home in Davenport, then it goes up.

This whole area is Westlake, and the ISD is the desirable Eanes district -- so you'll find youngish families with money there, along with older couples who remain after the kids grow up, and probably some wealthy no-kids folks who just stick to themselves.

If you go just north across the river, still only a couple of miles from Wild Basin and right next to the 360 bridge, is the Courtyard subdivision. There are a number of garden homes there next to the tennis courts/country club... and, not being part of Eanes, there might be fewer families with young children there. Prices there might be similar to Davenport, but I'm not sure.
