Tried to rep you but couldn't--must have repped you recently. I am SO READY to be living in Austin--if only my house would sell. I try to cram as much in as possible when I come to Austin because I never know when I will be back. The next time I come, I hope it is to STAY!!

Oh, the guy catching the football at Hamilton Pool Reserve asked if his pic would be in a magazine. (I have a really nice camera) I told him I was a scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers!! Needless to say, I got booed by some people, but others cheered!!

LongTimeAustinite is on a distinguished road
I think you did a great job of capturing the feel of what it's like to be here. Ginny's, the Broken Spoke, and the Continental Club are what's left of the old Austin live music places. Places that have a genuine feel to them. Hills Cafe was reborn after a local DJ bought the place. It's great to have it back. I grew up in the neighborhood across the street from there.

If my out-of-town friends wanted to get a feel for Austin is really is like (for me), I would take them to exactly all the places you went to. With a little BBQ and chicken fried steak thrown in.

I forgot to mention, we did eat BBQ after our long bike ride! We ate at Uncle Billy's. Their moist brisket was so good!!

That's interesting about Hill's Cafe. It was so nice sitting under the stars listening to Weldon Henson and his band.
