artsyguy trashes Austin everytime he gets a chance. I live just south of you in Greenville, Delaware (north of Wilmington). This is a beautiful area, much of it semi-rural with woodlands, rolling hills, sheer cliffs, streams and creeks. There are places closer to Philly that offer relief! However, Austin does offer a good quality of life overall. Pay no attention to that man behind the arsyguy curtain.

I've had him on ignore for some time now - I'm surprised everyone else doesn't by now, tbh.

Go to his profile, and right below the username there should be a scroll-down menu "user lists" - click that and there should be an option to "add user to ignore list." It's like he isn't even here, unless someone quotes his posts.

half of mexico and the us is headed here and it just freaks some people out. I love austin for what it is. but what is it to become if the welcome mat is left out to long?

Thank you- I do enjoy philly as a city just think it is corruptly ran (Mayor Street), extreme poverty and high crime (all the shootings even this past week), and find that the people are rough and more rude HOWEVER the city itself does have great place s to go, AWESOME food, and good activities close by if not by walking... I dont want to give it a bad rap

Despite how close we live to Philly, I never go there except for church in Centre City. In the summer Centre City really does have a cool spirit, with loads of people out in the streets. However, the crime in the bad sections of the city is deplorable, made even worse by the sensationalism of the Philly tv news, esp. the Fox affiliate. Austin's local news is so much more professional, balanced, and sophisticated than Philly's. I don't understand why tv news is so badly produced in Philly and why most of the news crew are such buffoons. They seem to see crime reporting (and fires and traffic accidents) as their prime function, aside from sports. Very little reporting of state and local politics, serious human interest, community organisation activities, etc. Pixie, you would be amazed at how much better Austin's tv news is -- like by about 1000%!
