fireworks
I'm looking for the easiest fireworks to go see tonight without a huge parking hassle. We have family in town and crowds will be a problem. Who has the best fireworks in North Austin? Cedar Park? Round Rock? Is there a good vantage place for Round Rock fireworks?

I said this in the other "easiest fireworks" or whatever thread.... I live right next to Round Rock's park and Dell Diamond so I know the show put on every year is quite large. I believe it's the 2nd biggest in the area behind CoA, naturally. If you do go, avoid going into the park (if you just want the fireworks). My suggestion is take 79 from 35 towards the park (Dell Diamond). Just before the light into Old Settlers Park on the left is a little side road - Joe Dimaggio - into Legends Village. There is a business office park there with tons of space to park or park on Joe Dimaggio itself. Both will be great views of the shows and super easy and quick access out if you jump in the car immediately after the show (or continue through on Joe Dimaggio ALL of the way, about 2 miles through the neighborhood, and it'll dump you onto 1460/AW Grimes just south of 3406/Old Settlers).
Remember, there are two shows tonight - one out of Dell Diamond for the concert tonight and the CoRR is doing their own too right next door. I wouldn't be surprised if they both were about the same time... that'd be a cool sight.

Hope you made it out... it looked like both Dell Diamond and the city had both of their shows at the same time. The Dell Diamond one was a little better throughout but the city one had quite the finale. It appeared that the city shot off in the north side of the park - further north than normal - so hopefully the views were okay down by 79. With the way our house sits, we couldn't see both at the same time - we could see the city one from the front yard and the Dell Diamond one from the back yard.

We ended up in a parking lot at old settlers on top of a hill in the Casa parking lot. We could see both shows simultanously. I agree the Dell Diamond was better of the two. I wish I was closer but the panorama view of both were interesting.

I sat out on my front porch and could see both very well, but that's how we watch them every year usually since our front porch faces West. Did you have to run back and forth through the house to see both or did you have seperate groups of people on both the front and back porch ?

We sat in the fields right beside the tennis courts. My husband swore the show closer to us was from Dell Diamond and those further back were from Pflugerville. We could tell those closer were clearly being set off from within the park, while the others were from Dell. I though it was almost like they were doing the show together.
But regardless, they were all great!

I think they did too, but they timed it just a minute or so apart so that their finales weren't at exactly the same time. It was the Old Settlers fireworks and the Dell Diamond ones, but you can see Pflugervilles from a distance as well.

Glad to hear the Casa lot worked out - I didn't know if the trees of the neighborhood would be in the way of the Dell Diamond fireworks from there. I'm in the neighborhood south of that parking lot and know the Dell fireworks are just above the tree line for us, but naturally I'm looking straight through the neighborhood.
We didn't watch the end of the Dell ones... it was the same one they put off for the baseball games... we see that 10 times a year or so. Once we heard the city ones going off, we went in the front to watch those. We had just a slightly better view of those as we could see them right down the street without much obstruction.
