Russian community in Austin area
Hi,
Me and my husband just moved to Austin area and would love to meet people with Russian background. We are in the late 20s. My husband is a dentist and I am a CPA, working for a bank. We love outdoors, good restaurants and great company. We would also love to get some hints where to go and what to do in the area.

I don't know of any Russian communities here, but there's a Russian grocery (Sasha's) on Anderson Lane and Rockport - across from Sun Harvest grocery. Maybe you can ask the owner? Their poppyseed loaf is good, btw!

Zolidze,
You may want to start visiting these sites - there're quite a few russians in Austin.
Russian Austin, TX, USA; *усский Остин, Техас, США
Our Texas - Russian Newspaper in Houston, Dallas, San-Antonio, Austin, Texas
Have you heard about odnoklassniki.ru (similar to facebook)? You can join a virtual community of russians in Austin on that site.
Welcome to Austin :-)

"people with Russian background"?
... it's not necessarily Russians then?
Why? (pardon my curiosity - i've got that since ... birth)
I'm sure you can find some students "with Russian background" at UT ... I'd met 4-5 Russian/Ukrainian students at CS, Math & Psychology depts.
