Welcome to Austin, I do wish you all the best here. The SW area is a pretty popular location for all the people moving here. I own a home there as well as a rental house, but it is not available. And honestly even if it were, I'd be looking for more of a long term tenant.

I know there is an Extended Stay hotel close by, so I looked into it for you. They have studio units with kitchens that will sleep 4. They want $55/night. That is pretty pricey when you compare it to a monthly lease but not so bad considering its furnished and you want a short term commitment. Edit, it looks like they do allow pets:

Quote:
Pet Policy
Extended Stay Hotels wants to ensure the most pleasant stay possible and we understand that when the family is going on vacation or being relocated, you don’t want to leave family members behind. This is why Extended Stay Hotels has a pet policy so that all your loved ones can be included.

One pet is allowed in each guest room and when you bring a pet, there will be a non-refundable cleaning fee charged upon check-in on the first night. This charge will be $25 dollars for each night of your stay but will not exceed $150. Weight, size and breed restrictions may apply. Please contact the hotel directly with inquiries. Please Note: “Signature” rooms do not currently accommodate pets, with the exception of handicap accessible rooms. Please contact the Extended Stay hotel directly to learn more about the pet friendly program and to secure a full copy of the pet policy.
Enjoy your next stay at an Extended Stay Hotel, knowing that we will welcome your four-legged guest.

You might also try VRBO for fully furnished short-term home rentals:

VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner

You can't easily sort by area, but you might find exactly what you are looking for. Lots of "pet-friendly" properties.

Look up Corporate Housing on the web. There are a number of companies in Austin that offer short term housing but at a premium cost. I think our 2 bedroom apartment was costing the company about $3,000 a month. These would be fully furninshed apartments or houses with dishes, utensils etc thrown in.

Marriott also has some extended stay properties (other than Residence Inn) that you can look into as well. Not sure if they take pets.
