Does anyone live in Meridian?
We're now thinking about building in Meridian. Does anyone already live there? What's it like???

This is probably a dumb question since it's on the Austin board, but are you referring to Meridian in Bosque County or is there a development or something in Austin called Meridian?

Even though we have been here for a while, our 10,800 sq. ft. lot is huge to us compared to what we came from, which was a Townhouse.
With a backyard that was 14 ft. deep, but 26 ft. wide, I think we had a lot of 3336 sq. ft. We were actually a fractional landowner in the development, and that is what we were given as our portion.
So for perspective of those reading in states with higher density, when you say small lot, do you mean 6000 sq. ft. (50x120), 7200 sq. ft. (60x120), 1/4 acre, 1/2 acre, etc?

I guess it really depends on your personal preference.
To me a 60x120 lot would seem fine for a home that was around 1600-2300 sq ft, but when you build a 3000 + sq ft homes on those lot sizes it really shrinks the lot and makes the homes looked like they are stacked on each other.

I live there
It is the greatest place I have ever lived. There are a lot of families in their 30's with young children. The neighborhood is quiet, but the neighbors are really friendly. It feels as if we are building a community family. The homes are beautiful, the lots are small if you don't pay a premium for a bigger lot. I love Meridian, and I would definetly recommend it. I have lived there since September.

We drove through it, stopped at some model homes and opted not to build there. We wanted a big house---I wanted one-story---so it just wasn't practical. The area is really pretty though and the location is great.
