My daughter will be entering Austin ISD.as an 8th grader. Because of my employment, we will be needing to live in South or South/Central Austin. I am contemplating trying to live in the O'Henry Middle School area, mainly because it is a small school and in a great area. If anyone has any info/opinions on the school, I would deeply appreciate the insight.

The map below would show the attendance boundaries for O'Henry. Zilker, Barton Hills seem to be the only neighborhoods in S. Austin that meet the location criteria.
(apologies for the quality)

Just a point of note--it is O. Henry, not O'Henry. It''s named for the Austin-based writer. You're probably familiar with the story "Gift of the Magi" which he wrote where the poor young woman shears her hair to buy her husband's Christmas present while he buys her a very nice hair accessory.

I went to O. Henry junior high, in 76 and 77.
My parents still live in Barton Hills.

It was good back then, I guess???
