Elginresident - you asked regarding the Middle/High Schools on Blake Manor Road - those schools are scheduled (according to the Manor Messenger) to be built by 2017. The property is 80 acres at the corner of Blake Manor Rd & Hog Eye Road - it will have a Middle School and a High School. The adjoining property was also purchased so I would put it at over 100 acres at least in that area.

Hooray - they are finally seeing that the east is NOT the bad end of Travis County! Stop dragging the dumps out here, no more cement plants with conveyor belts running through the Oak trees and elms! Start understanding this is beautiful land out here and worth alot more than all the rock and cactus and cedar out west!

I'm very okay with the development out this way - I'd LOVE to see a grocery store that you don't have to drive 20 minutes to! I want MY HEB!!!! My house is up for sale and I'd love for people to see
Manor as we see it, a beautiful, quiet area to live in. If my grandkids hadn't moved to Pflugerville, we'd be here for forever.....but the kids lived next door since they were born (almost) and Grandma can't stand it!!!!!

I think that this area will see a lot of growth, simply because there was so much planned as recent as 11/2007. Everything has come to a hault because of the credit crisis. It may take 5 - 10 years or so, but IMO that area will be unrecognizable. Here is an article showing the proposed developments 18 months ago.

Don't forger that, unless the national lending community picks up, growth will not be anything like the clip of the last 5 years, regardless of where it DOES vector out in Austin's metro...
