So a roofer came to our door and wanted to do an estimate. I never do business with solicitors so my wife sent him away. Apparently he didn't like the fact that we didn't go with him. So he keyed our car on the way out. Man I am so frustrated, but Mr. high IQ left us his business card.

So.... Do you think I should send mail to the company headquarters?

I hope you filed a police report.

Police report would be good, that way you can have documentation when you threaten to sue the roofing company! Check with your neighbors to see if anyone else got "the treatment" too...

Did you see him do it? Or just assume that he did it because you rejected his estimate?

Sounds like it could have been a kid at work just as well.

Either way, that's messed up. Sorry that happened to you. Don't think filing a police report will make a difference unless someone saw or you got it on tape.

That happened to me too awhile ago in Wisconsin. He scratched our brand new dining room table as he left and ran over our bushes. We were getting an estimate on a custom made table protector. We did not do anything about it. It was a very expensive set, but we figured we couldn't prove it to anyone. I think you should file a complaint. I wish we would have.

Yeah those were my thoughts exactly. Since I can't prove it was him I don't think I can do anything.

I think I wanna build a moat...
