I seriously don't think you will find a snake in down town, but get away from the constant pavement and highrises, and there will be snakes.

Our snake bite story was in a rural area, about 50 miles north of Austin. I don't think I've ever come across a rattler in the city. It can happen in urban areas, of course, but I think it's rare.

Found a small snake skin once in our backyard, never saw the snake. It was probably a little garter snake. That was the suburbs.

100% of the snakes I've ever seen were out in rural areas. We make way too much noise in the city.
