I guess Moonlady will have specifics for you but the area is fairly inconsistent in terms of appearance just driving from block to block. There are apartment complexes with vinyl banners on fences, the Goodwill Outlet(who knew?) is almost across the street, older retail areas and bars as well as the BMW dealer and newer fast-food all within a couple of blocks. The homes and multi-family complexes offer a variety of 'looks' as well, with some looking up-to-date and others a bit run-down. There are very well-maintained homes and fairly ugly areas both--within a mile radius of the condos you mentioned. I can't speak to the Los Indios condos except from outward appearance.
From what I understand, that area used to be 'way the heck out of town'(along with Anderson Mill to the north) but shiny, new development is just a stone's throw to the north, by way of Lakeline Mall, Avery Ranch, etc. A bit of new retail/restaurant growth on Parmer as well. Lots of commercial development(retail, restaurants, auto parts, etc) all along 183--a quarter of a mile to the west. Great access to 183, if that's of benefit. Really good specialty bicycle shop(MusicCityCycles) within walking distance, also.
