I find it unlikely that Austin's trend of growth and development will resemble New York or Los Angles now or in the future. For one, it's not dense enough, lacks the public transportation infrastructure, and outside of being the state capitol, is not a hub of regional or national significance.

Dallas and Houston growth patterns are rerminscent of LA.
