Huh? Every city has shopping centers. It's about time Austin caught up.

I won't be seen picketing the Domain anytime soon What's annoying is when people look down on others who don't shop there. If I need new socks, I'll buy them at the unnamed bohemoth that many are protesting.

Actually, Salvation Army is less expensive! Goodwill needs to lower their prices. They're waaay to high.

This sounds like language from the story about you attending UT here (rather than the only being in Austin when visiting your cousin - unless your cousin was attending UT at the time - one, or the living and working here one), based on what you're describing, which might be what college kids here (a small percentage of them, to be fair to the UT students) are saying, but not what the majority of the population talks about.

Last I heard Dallas is not a conservative city. Get your facts straight before you dis a city that is far more developed, liberal, and advanced than Austin. [/quote]

The Dallas AREA is far more conservative, when I was speaking Dallas, I was speaking of the area, NOT the city proper. Did I "dis" Dallas, NO. Get your facts straight before you go blabbing about me being a Dallas-hater. I happen to like Dallas, I was just stating an obvious point.

Dallas is indeed liberal - if you compare to Vidor.

Oh thank God. I'm glad the majority in the city aren't that horribly simple. I reversed my decision about UT a long time ago due to everybody telling me the exact same stanzas. Didn't bother going.

A city isn't all black or all white. Even the "far more conservative" areas have liberalism due to the influx of minorities. So ha ha on you.

Other than #3 (which is true), I have never heard anyone say any of the above. Well, my husband talks about the amazing aquatics program at UT (and how he wished he could have attended it back in the day), but that's it.
