My husband told me today he is thinking about us moving to Austin. We already have out house up for sale here in Dallas so hopefully we'll be out soon. Just need an area with good schools and nature. We have no nature here in Dallas. This is something we miss greatly coming from Colorado orginally.

We'll be down this weekend for the Bat Fesitval so we'll be definatly be looking around.

We are originally from the Houston area and moved to Denver and lived there for about 6 yrs.. We chose Central Texas when we were moving back because it more closely resembled Denver than Houston did as far as scenery goes.

West and East of 35 are the same as West/East Colorado (well, West of 35 in Austin does not have massive mountain ranges) but East of 35 is pretty much the same as Eastern Colorado.

Everyone I know tells me Austin is a perfect fit for me. As much as I like Colorado, the weather changes are too extreme for me and I doesn't make me feel very good, so I need to stay in a warmer climate. I now live in Dallas and I have to get out of here, DFW and I are like oil and water.

I have started researching and already I like a lot of things about Austin so I am excited about my stay there.

I did notice you don't get as much house as you do in DFW but for a better quality of life, it's worth it.

Okay, price range? Size of house? Kind of neighborhood? Sounds like your interests tend towards the outdoor life - is that accurate? Where would you and/or your husband be commuting from?

We can point you better if we have answers to those kinds of questions.

There is a reason the obesity rate is so high in Texas. People don't want to go out! Lets not ignore the horrible food choices most Texans make.

If you're so unhappy in Texas, what makes you think Austin is so different?
