You can't get away from them, no matter where you go.
Yes...........primarily the southern part of the state that is VERY far from Chi area. Most of the critters don't deal well with our winters. We do a good job of Mosquito farming here no shortage at all

The northeast US and Canada has been having a lousy summer. Up until two weeks ago, the average day in Ontario struggled to get to the mid-70's. They had a lot of rain and clouds. Evenings were chilly, and this was into the end of July. Everyone was complaining they were not getting a summer.

About 2 weeks ago they started to get some real nice hot weather. Mid 80's, lots of sun, no rain. After two weeks of that, my in laws were complaining it was too HOT!!!!

That's human nature. Complain you want something, and then complain its too much after 2 weeks.!!!

They are currently on the drive down to Austin to stay for a few weeks. I give them about 1 day in the 100 degree heat before they are complaining its too hot.

Yeah, that's what I miss about living in the SF Bay Area - the nice, mild summers. Once in a while they'd have a "hot" day - but not non-stop 3 months in a row of it like here - augh!

OMG, all of my friends & relatives in Boston are the same way. Last winter, every single Facebook status update was about how COLD it was (granted, it WAS). Then, through most of the summer, they bitched about the rain. Now everyone's complaining about how HOT it is.

Ugh. I can't believe I'm moving back.

Funny thread. My wife and I have a dilemma. She is from Minneapolis and I am from central Arkansas. We moved to Austin for a month and had to come back to Arkansas for family business. We planned on returning to Austin, but........if you have ever been to Arkansas you know its hot and humid here in the summers and after seeing that Austin has had a record number of 100 degree days, she is telling me she might be wanting to head back to Minneapolis! I am pretty well accustomed to how hot it gets, but I admit that I never like that a few minutes after leaving the house to go out that I am already sweaty. Where oh where shall we end up.........

Default heat?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... at least you don't have to shovel 100 degrees.

Absolutely, but at the same time, you can always put on more clothes. You can only take so many off.
