As long as you don't have swastika tattooed on your head, you should be fine.

Half the men living in the cul-de-sac across the street from me have shaved heads. It sure beats the comb-over.

Some people do judge you by how you look, it’s inevitable. First impressions do matter to some. I do not think though, people will think you are a skinhead or anything like that just because you have no hair unless you act like one. If you like your hair short or bald, wear it like that! I would not care what they think, if they want to judge you, they will find something. Good luck with your decision.

Default Bald head and all that...

Austin is pretty open minded as a whole so..I don't think anyone will pick you out of a crowd and think bad things about you. But while we're on the subject- What do you think people would think of an outgoing smiley & friendly, pretty and physically fit gal with a great body who sports a bald head?

Sounds amazing to me! On the right lady, it looks great. Why the hell not?

I'd think nothing of it. It can look great, imo. Seems like a lot of maintenance, but hats off (no pun intended) to you if you could keep up with it.

...all great replies I'd be one such gal. I live in NY state at the mo but will be living in Austin by the beginning of November 09. In NYC no one thinks twice about it -really- and I'm such a live and let live kinda person I think nothing of "it" either anymore, but a few of my friends have asked me if I thought Austin would be receptive? I guess ( at least ) a few would: Doesn't matter anyway ..I am what I am

Now, all judgments aside, I might still stare at a woman with a shaved head, but not because I thought she was a freak...I just would want to look at her because it's uncommon. Plus I would compare her shaving skills with my own bad*ass-ness.

It's always been peculiar to me that some folks take great pains to look out of the ordinary but get annoyed when people look at them with interest. Kind of defeats the purpose of looking interesting no?
