Question Snake issues

Just trying to get a feel of the community. Austin and surrounding areas. With drought being as bad as it has been this year, the snakes are being forced to enter our communities and even our homes. If a snake removal service were to be offered, How much would you be willing to pay to have your home and property searched and rid of snakes found?

Snakes are being forced to enter our communities and our homes? Isn't that a bit like snake slavery?

I don't think it is true - at least not where I live (western Travis County). The lizard population seems down this year and I haven't seen a snake in quite a while.

The lizard population is down due to the snakes. Almost all snake s are nocturnal. There are few that are dieurnal, like the coral snake for instance. The only reason there have been snake encounters like there have been this year is due to the drought. Local hospitals in the area have reported 32+ snake bites this year from April to late July, compared to last years 36 total for the year.

We saw more for a brief period (all non-venomous) earlier this summer, but haven't seen any in a while.

We wouldn't use such a service because if they're non-venomous, they're generally good to have around, and if they're venomous, they don't get to live here (and we deal with it ourselves). But we live in the country. We did kill a rat snake that was close to the house, because its rattlesnake imitation was way too successful. That was sad.
