Celebrity sighting: Jessica Alba
I was at the club Kiss & Fly last night and one of my friends said "that's Jessica Alba". As I attempted to get closer, I was met with two rude "security" guards who told me to back away.
Then, I saw her dancing on the dance floor. I wasn't compelled to say anything but apparently, there's a recent trend of celebrities either buying real estate in Austin, or coming to enjoy its amenities.
Unimportant, I know, but just thought I'd share my celebrity sighting!  |

She is here filming Machete. It's a Robert Rodriguez film and he does most of his filming in Austin.

She was on an episode of Seasame Street that I saw the other day....she was doing the word of the day - "Scrumptious". Tooo funny.

What a coincidence. I just got back from the Lamar Whole Foods and the checker asked me and my wife if we knew who Jessica Alba was. She had just come through the checkout with her kid.

I think she's a very pretty girl, but not a knock out. Also, a lot shorter than I had anticipated. But I must admit, I was a bit turned off by the security.
This is Austin, not LA, and people here (in my experience atleast) are rather apathetic to celebrity and fame.

L3XVS - True that. She's not that attractive at all. When she first popped on the scene she was "it". Post-baby she's just "eh". I'd let her give me $100, though.

I'll third that. I think it's cool celebs like Austin, but all the entourage they bring with them that are rude just is off putting. I know that they need to be protected from stalkers but I think someone ought to fill them in on the fact that in Texas, especially Austin, that we really don't care "who" they are and pretty much mind our own business so that they don't come here all uptight and edgy.

don't think it's a big deal she had security... she probably had no choice about them being there - $500 to protect your million dollar pay check..
