Er, the service agreement is issued and carried out here, locally. My sister works for the company that holds the contract to fulfill this. When they send a tech out, they aren't flying him in from India...

Just on the news (rumors) this past Friday that Dell laying-off the rest of the manufacturing out in PN 1 & 2.

Then the more bigger rumor is that DELL's looking to sell it all off (deeper then what this article says)!!
(But Dell didn't want to comment)

Here:

Dell Planning to Sell Factories

09/05/2008 -- Dell's trying to sell some of it's computer factories around the world, according to the Wall Street Journal.

According to a source in the Wall Street Journal, Dell has approached contract computer manufacturers with offers to sell the plants. One person briefed on the plan said he expects the company to sell most -- and possibly all -- of its factories "within the next 18 months." Other factories could close, this person said. Dell would enter into agreements with the contract manufacturers to produce its PCs.

Dell operates factories in Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Ireland, India, China, Brazil, Malaysia and Poland.

This plan shows the latest change in their global PC business, and the increased efforts to increase profits.

Last week the company reported a quarterly profit that sent shares down more than 18%.
