Are HS football games televised and if so, what channel are they on. Can't find anything in the guide except nonstop sports and it's not the games just highlights.

I'm watching a Camden, GA vs Hoover, AL right now on EspnU. They often have Texas high school games on FSSW (Fox Sports Southwest), but it doesn't look like any tonight. Be sure to check on Thursday nights as well. Not sure about any of your local channels since I am not in the Austin area.

Texas HS football games are not allowed to be shown live on TV on Fridays (UIL rules)... you'll be able to find games every now and then on Thursday nights. Austin usually doesn't show any local games - you'll find the random state game every now and then.

There has been a few local games televised on Fox Sports SW in the past few years. They are rare, but I do know Pflugerville vs. Leander (Thursday game) was televised two years ago.

You can listen to some teams over the internet. Since I'm a Pflugerville Panther supporter, here is the link that you can listen to their games.

Lone Star Sports Network -- Pflugerville Panthers, Pflugerville High School, Texas

Or you can go to a few of them. Last Friday Pflugerville ran all over Judson (a traditional Texas power) 42-21. On October 10th we play Westlake which should be a good one.

K-MAC Sports - Bringing Your Teams to You also carries a few games live over the internet.

Correct, that the UIL does not allow games to be televised on Friday nights. Some replays can be found on your local cable providers as well.

WB35 in SA also streams their Thursday night games live online on their website but most of their games are smaller/poorer quality teams in SA.

The past couple of years, FSSW was doing the Thursday night game of the week (correct, Pville-Leander was one of them - great game) and usually they were pretty major matchups, but it seems as if that stopped this year.

When I said Austin doesn't show local games, I mean none of the local stations here show the games from here - every now and then an Austin game will be broadcast statewide. I point that out specifically because almost every other major city in TX has at least one local channel showing taped games or live Thursday/Saturday games.

TSRN does stream radio broadcasts of most games statewide, if interested.
