Where do people in the Austin area work to afford to live in the high rise condo's??????

Those condos aren't as expensive as they might first appear. Lots of downtown lawyers, a few doctors, I personally know one Freescale employee.....

I know that sometimes the Real Estate Section of the paper will run an article about high rise residents. Seems like a number of them are also empty nesters who want to be closer to the action now that the kids are out of the house

You can get a high-rise condo for under $300k. It'll probably be a 1/1 - but most of them aren't that big anyway besides the penthouses.

Lots of people living down town are people who bought homes 20-30 years ago close to downtown and sold them recently for a bazillion dollars more than they paid for them - thus, money for the DT condo.
