Default Lawn Service Prices in Round Rock

Just made contact with a lawn service company. I was quoted a fee of $135/mo.

This fee includes: mowing, blowing, hedge trimming, flower bed weeding, and fertilizer 4 times per year.

I live in Forest Creek. Is this quote high? We just came from California and our fee for the same was $120/mo so I'm a little surprised.

That raises a good question. Do you need to have your lawn mowed each week in the greater Austin Area or will bi-weekly service be sufficient?

Ours is $30 every 2 weeks. We are able to get by with every 2 weeks, especially with the dry spell over the summer.

IF you have the ever-present St. Augustine, every week is not quite often enough in the milder(?), wetter(?) growing months, say April through Sept. Chances are you will be cutting more than the 1/3 height of the grass after a week of growing...that said, unless you water like crazy during the hottest months, you may be able to get away with that. We are now finding that every couple of weeks would 'almost' work, except that some areas of our St. A are very lush(especially with the recent rains) while others could easily go two weeks between cuttings.

In other words, it's hard to say...spring or wet summer weeks==more like once a week. From now until March, twice a month should do it(unless we keep getting rain and mild temps)...however, if your grass actually goes dormant(ours did not last year), you likely will only need clean-up rather than grass cutting. On the other hand, you could complicate your life and overseed with rye and have to cut your grass all 'winter'...NOT recommended by yours truly.

Best of luck! I cut my own grass as needed unless I catch the neighborhood landscape dude and have him give it a complete treatment...but that's only a couple of times during the season. I'd be hard-pressed to pay for a regularly scheduled lawn service given what we've experienced, weather-wise, in the past 17 months since we arrived.
