Perhaps. I can read, so I stay under 70. Perhaps you are not so encumbered.

It would be rather difficult to speed through rush hour traffic. I just pay attention to the road and the drivers around me. You have to be careful in Austin because there are a lot of idiots who are dangerous drivers.
I am guessing that your commute time is so long is because you drive excessively slow. mimimomx3 driving way too slow on the interstate can be just as dangerous as driving too fast. Please try not to be a dangerous driver. You don't have to drive the speed limit if this speed makes you uncomfortable. It is acceptable to drive 5, or even 10, under the speed limit.

Speaking of a blue moon, we will have a blue moon on Dec 31. There will be 2 full moons in December. The first on December 2 and then the blue moon on Dec 31. Back to the discussion of commute times.

Thanks everyone for the great info! This is exactly what I needed to know. It sounds like Avery Ranch and Cedar Park (Deer Creek / Twin Creek area) are about the same commute times....I would have thought Avery was shorter. I've seen both these areas and like them both very much. I haven't seen the others in-person yet but they look nice on the web, maybe just less house for your $ but shorter commute....I guess it's all about trade-offs!

If you are commuting to downtown, you should live south of the river. It takes me 30 min. max. from 9 miles south during rush hour.

I drive 10 miles from River Place to 183 and loop 1 (MooPacked) and it takes me from school drop off 7:45am to 8:10am 80% of the time. Like a previous poster said 2222 is beautiful and makes my day almost every morning! Driving home in the early afternoon 2:30pm takes 15 to 20 minutes and the 6pm drive get me home before 6:30pm. Going to 1st and Congress would take longer, but compaired to commutes around the country it is nothing.

So from Avery Ranch, would you take Palmer to Mopac to get downtown??? And from Cedar Park (Deer Creek) you would take 183 to Mopac, correct? I'm guessing Avery Ranch would be better b/c you would avoid 183....is that a correct assumption or is Palmer gridlocked badly too?
