We are planning to head to "Lost Maples" over the weekend. I heard the fall colors are at peak now. Any tips, suggestions etc? I plan to leave on Saturday early morning (so that we are there by 10AM or so)...and probably take a quick hike and stroll through the nature. Also, can I take my dog with me?

Any tips/suggestions etc are extremely welcome and thanks in advance!

I would suggest calling first; some of those parks limit how many people can come in daily, and I'd guess now is peak time.

Lost Maples are good for hiking. The view is just so-so. we went there and loved Garner State Park nearby. Garner's color is so beautiful.

Garner is amazing. It reminded me so much of the High Sierras of California. The cabins there are a real treat to rent, too.
