Default Best Place to Buy Mattress

I'm in need of a new mattress very soon I only know of the main mattress stores in Austin--Mattress Giant and I believe Mattress firm. Are there any other local stores that have same/better quality mattresses at an even better price?

Thanks to all!

When I moved to Austin last September, I bought from Mattress Firm. Technically you CAN get a cheaper mattress from the online store of Wal-Mart, it is called a bed in a box, or something like that. I think they were like, 160 bucks or something around in there for a queen sized. However, at Mattress Firm, I got a queen sized Sealy mattress and box spring for 299 dollars. It was a plush, and I found it very comfortable. It is no Simmons or Tempur, but I also paid 300 bucks for it, heh.

The furniture stores carry the NAME BRAND mattresses but I think are a bit pricey. Also, Sams and Costco usually carry some! Worth a look!

I'm a fan of Factory Mattress. They are locally owned and have been in Austin over 30 years. If you're looking for a bargain, they have a clearance center on Fortview which carries unmatched sets and closeouts. Otherwise, their stores have a good selection and prices are competitive.

Edited to add - looks like they have 3 clearance centers now: the one at 183& 620 and one on N Lamar in addition to the south location.

Now that's what I'm talking about.

Thx!

We just bought a new mattress set from Sears and their prices were right down there with the competitors. They were having a fantastic sale that might even still be going. Delivery was free, they only charged us $10 to take the old set away, and they have a 30 day Comfort Guarantee that doesn't cost you a cent to make one exchange. We actually did not like the first mattress, it was too soft. It takes a few nights of sleep to really figure a new mattress out. Within a week they exchanged it for another set without any hassle at all. We were really pleased with how it went.

My body is my most precious commodity so I put a lot of investment in my mattress. I have a King size sleigh bed with a Sealy double pillowtop mattress with Euro-cushion that "rebounds" every single time you get up. I love it. I bought it from Star furniture for $$$$$
