Red face Georgetown

Hi there, My husband and I and our two young children will be relocating to Austin in June. We are considering purchasing a home in Berry Creek the Woods. We are moving from Grand Haven, Michigan a small beach resort town so we are looking for that small town feel. Does anyone have any info about Georgetown or schools or Berry Creek or Drees Home builder. We are really in the dark and could use some info. thanks

There are some excellent posts on the forum about Georgetown that will answer a lot of your questions. Use the search function and just enter Georgetown.

Btw, moving to Georgetown and moving to Austin are not quite the same thing. G'town is just far enough away to still be an independent city (it is also the Wm County seat). I grew up near Berry Creek (before there were any subdivisions there), and it was a great area at the time. Things have changed a bit, but G'town is still a nice 'small' town, although coming into Austin will be a commute. The new 130 might help, but I have never been on it....

Default Georgetown

Georgetown is a great little town with almost everything you could want... it has great places to eat (gourmet included), is a beautiful area, and is home to the oldest university in Texas (Southwestern University--a georgeous campus, and one of the top universities in the nation). I am a Texas native, from the oldest platted town in the state (and historic--Columbus) and I even want to live in Georgetown. You will not regret going there...convenience to Round Rock and Austin, small town atmosphere, and wonderful people make this community just that--a community! Nolan Ryan lives there as well and lots of other "retirees"!
