Teen pregnancy rates are on page 68 (Table H) and include US, Texas, and Travis County and are broken down by African American, Hispanic, and White.

Demographics for Austin schools can be found a multitude of places, such as GreatSchools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community.

As I said, it is anecdotal, but the highest teen pregnancy rates in Travis County are among hispanic kids (as per the first report) and that Akins has the highest percentage of hispanic kids of any high school in Austin (as per the greatschools info).

I am also not saying that there is specific data that I could find in a quick search, but that it would not surprise me if Akins had the highest teen pregnancy rates. I do remember it being in the news (although I think it was radio, since I don't read the Statesman), and until you provide a link showing me it does not have the highest pregnancy rate, then I am sticking to my memory .

Have you ever hear the term "Burden of Proof"?

I did not start the debate by claiming "Akins has the highest pregnancy rate in the district"
- therefore the burden of proof does not rest on my shoulders.

I see that data from the site you gave me, and it's true to an extent, but this data was also collected 3 years ago before I even moved here, and things have changed dramatically since then even, as stated by my earlier post. I understand your assumption of "anecdotal" evidence, but returning to the original subject matter, this is a constant theme of degrading remarks from adjacent districts that at best amounts to anecdotal evidence. My original message remains the same, these two districts will be indistinguishable in 10-15 years judging from the changes that I have witnessed within my two years here.

Isn't Akins & Bowie in the same district?

No, It doesn't - wrong again.

Akins does not have the highest hispanic HS student population in Austin, nor does it have the largest population period either (per Greatschools.com *2007 schoolyear* data)
Travis and Crockett are higher for starters. (Those are the only schools I had time to look up so far, but I will resume later)
If you were comparing Bowie vs. Akins, then Akins would have the higher percentage, but that is not what you said.

Meant to say adjacent schools, not districts (apologies).

I'm still waiting for certain people to explain their innaccurate statements that attempt to skewer neighboring schools, but no rebuttal is forthcoming.
This is what happens when people are called to task and are exposed: they remain silent and let the thread fade away..

Pathetic.

lol...you take this very seriously. Sorry if I am taking care of real life

cut-n-paste from greatschools. Not sure what year, but these are the schools sorted by hispanic %. I did it manually the first time and missed Travis, it appears.

Travis High School 3.5 <1% 13% 81% <1% 5%
Akins High School 4.5 2% 12% 67% <1% 19%
Crockett High School 0 1% 10% 63% <1% 26%

Hutto has a high percentage of hispanics too and all but 2 schools got Recognized ratings. So why does it matter if a school has a high percentage of hispanics? I'm pretty sure there are some schools around somewhere with high minority populations that get good ratings and don't have high percentages of teen pregnancies or whatever.

"real life?"

How does lying to the general public - by referring to a competing school as the biggest hispanic baby factory in Austin reflect this "real life" that you speak of? Do you create your own facts and slander others in this version of "real life" you've created? btw, the data on the site is from 2007.

You also missed 4 other schools beside Travis..this would be yet another "honest" mistake I've called you out on today:
