Anything change here?? We are looking at moving to the area to be close to Austin but not too close. We like rural living and want a nice place for our kids to enjoy nature. I work from home so jobs are not a factor and we would eventually buy a house closer to Austin in 2-3 years. Thoughts??

Look at a map of austin there are other places to look at like Leander, Taylor, Jarrell, etc. You also want to look for good schools since you have children. Also if you work from home and need internet its another thing you need to look into.

Lampasas or Belton would be better than CC.

Tell us what rural living means to you and maybe I can tell you where you need to look. Copperas Cove is a lot different than it was almost a decade ago, with a lot more amenities, but not sure it would fit what you want.
