Other than campus libraries, where are some good places to study that are relatively quiet?

Someone suggested the Flawn Academic Center at UT, some parts of it are open to Non-UT students.

Suggestions? Attempting to study at home isn't cutting it.

Mozart's on Lake Austin is a popular study place when the weather is nice.

Austin Java and similar coffehouses with adequate space are good options.

Public library.

Here's an idea that would make a good "News Of The Weird" story --- you could commit a series of breaking-and-entering crimes where you simply bust into houses during times when nobody is home and all you do is study and maybe fix yourself some tea and a snack, then leave a "thank you" note including an apology for the broken window or doorway. Be sure to bring doggie treats in case Fido stays indoors during the day.

The FAC is essentially a library - a "multimedia library" I believe.

I used to always study on the top floors of the Texas Union or in the Architecture Library - IMO the most beautiful library on the UT campus.

Off-campus, there's a number of coffee shops around Austin that are popular studying spots.

Pacha's on Burnet Road near 45th, Flight Path (I've never attempted it there, but my daughter did while at UT), Russell's Bakery on Hancock Dr., Triumph Cafe on Spicewood Springs Rd, just west of Mopac. You'll sometimes get a loud talker in these coffee shops, but most of the time they are quiet enough for studying. The Yarborough library on Hancock Dr. seems good as well, open until 9 M-Th, closed on Friday and Sunday, open 10-5 on Sat.
