Default looking for rental advice for renting in round rock area

I'm moving to round rock on august 1, trying to find a house for rent or a decent apartment to rent 3 bedrooms under 1000. I want a safe nice place to live , any suggestions?

round rock doesn't have any bad areas. Check the local papers Round Rock Leader is RR's paper. It has a website.

I read through there and it's hard for me to believe just by looking at them from the outside. I do agree (as a former apt. dweller) that some complexes do themselves no favors by renting to just anyone, and I would definitely take safety into consideration. I have expanded views about the character of some of these residents, etc...but this isn't the forum for it, I guess. There are many newer complexes not listed on this. They ought to update the website. There are some brand new ones behind the H.E.B plus now and another down by the RR Higher education center, among many others. Some of the opinions are standard gripes for apartment complexes though. Some people are never happy and no amount of coddling them does any good. How many older apartment buildings actually have good insulation and thick walls. Of course you'll hear your neighbors. And apartment management can't tell people how to raise their children, although we had a neighbor in Denver who never let her kid outside and he was always going buckwild in there. One day my husband went and knocked on her door and asked her to please quit torturing her kid and take him to the park or something. I'm not saying you're saying any of this stuff...Please forgive me if it sounds that way I'm just giving you some feedback on the opinions some people posted. My mom's been asking me to find her an apartment here, and there are some really nice ones. I'll see if I can find the sites again for you.

We moved to Houston from a little safe town and I was scared to death from all the ratings on apartmentratings.com. But like the PP said, I think a lot of the posts are just whiners. Maybe they didn't get as much deposit back as they thought they would so they had to do something vindictive.

For the most part, the rule holds true: you get what you pay for. At least in Houston we have found that you don't have to buy the most expensive apartment to find something decent and reasonably safe, but the really cheap options are cheap for a reason.
