I'm already a fan of The Living End, Roll On is my favorite punk rock album of all time. Are there any other popular Australian rock bands right now. (In the 80's you had some of the best, INXS, Crowded House, Men at Work, Midnight Oil, etc..)

I'm a big fan of the AC/DC-esque Airbourne, but Aussie rock seems to be in abit of a slump at the moment?

Eskimo Joe, Hoodoo Gurus, Jet, Powderfinger, Silverchair

Empire of the Sun - electronic, but interesting

John Butler Trio - blues, roots - worth a listen to

check out Calling All Cars
they supported Acca Dacca on their Aussie leg of world tour

also You & Am I - Tim Rogers is awesome

Airbourne rock too - remind me of AC/DC

Little Red are ok, I believe they have just released a new album which is meant to be alright- although they're more old style Rockn'Roll...

Or there is Gyroscope & Grinspoon- although I haven't listened to much of their stuff

I don't mind Empire of the Sun & am seeing Temper Trap soon in Sydney - they are apparently very good live

The Autumn Isles and the Bank Holidays, been a couple of years since I saw them but they are great emerging Perth bands. Super-engine, too. I like EOTS, as well as Sleepy Jackson (pretty much most of EOTS).

Default Cog

Cog is a Great band. They don't get talked about a lot, but I think they need more listeners.

There's an article I wrote on them for my blog recently.

whitevacantspaces.blogspot.com

It might give you a few reasons to consider listening to their music. I apologize if this seems like spam, it's not. Hope this helps the forum topic.

Look up Royal Headache. They're a band out of Sydney with a great sound.

Temper Trap are really good live. I'd like to hear about some new bands too.

For the OP, you can stream some Aussie stations, like JJJ. They're always playing something new. (I'm assuming you're writing from outside Australia.)
