Hope you all had a great Australia Day!

I went down to Bondi in the afternoon to have a few drinks with friends. Must say, the crowd (and there were thousands down there) were very well behaved.

Nice way to break up the week.

Did the "in" thing in Queensland at the moment, helping to remove the walls and flooring of a flooded house, then had a BBQ on the front lawn together with a few well earned beers.

Don't celebrate it, have never been inspired by it.

What the day is based upon commemorates English shores , not these ones.

The best national day for us happens on the first Tuesday of November.

25th of April is good for our national pride. But with the pride of NZ and Turkey and the Ottoman empire interwoven. It's not a mustard cutter for a national day either.

Does anyone really get filled with pride on the 26th of January? Or just grog.

no & no.

I tried to find something special for Aus Day... up until I saw the GG seem to have more .... respect than the PM is a big turn off.

Pity we still drag our feet on getting the UK flag off ours
