Thank you Minibrings, I'm glad that you didn't think that it was just incoherent rambling?

I would say the western half of the U.S. has much more culturally (and landscape-wise) in common with the U.S.

Again both with lots of arid/semiarid wide-open spaces. Somewhat rough and tumble/frontier spirit. Ranching (or stations in Australia).

I would probably say the eastern seaboard (of the U.S.) might however have more in common with NW Europe.

More "tame", more populated longer history (although even the east coast of the US can't really hold a flame to Euro history). More cities, not as rugged.

Living in the U.S., you hear that Australian woman love American men. Is this overblown? My friends in the military who have been to Australia have said that ugly American men can get attention from beautiful Australian woman. Really? It's hard to believe it's as excessive as they say.

Not true buddy. I lived there and went to University in Australia.
Maybe in the Philippines, Cambodia or Thailand. They love the passports out of their countries.

I am an American, an American sailor in fact and though I share my fondness for Australian women, I have to believe your friend mistaken that island of Australia with a smaller one such as guam or a chain of islands such as the philipines? What being on the open seas with 3000 other men for months on end can do to a man.

Horrible, but true. Frail though? I disagree with this statement. A lot of good things have come out of Denmark and i wouldn't call the Vikings "frail."

I knew this would all turn sour as Aussies always spit the dummy when they are losing.

Only one Aussie is doing the spitting though.

The rest of us, Mightn't always see eye to eye with Americans? But, We don't hold any 'bad blood' towards you (I certainly don't! )
